SW REIP Fleet Event
9th June 2009
The National Fleet Category Strategy Team is coming to Taunton on 9 June to share their work in Fleet and provide a first-hand opportunity to understand how they can help the region be more effective and efficient with all aspects of fleet.
The Fleet team will provide information on:
-
The National Fleet Category Strategy Team set up as part of the Treasury's collaborative procurement programme to improve supply routes for vehicles and associated services and products. The team is made up of fleet practitioners from central civil government and local authorities and has a number of pan government frameworks produced by a range of public sector contracting authorities designed to deliver value-for-money supply routes and terms.
-
The team is leading a strategic project on 'grey fleet' (employees using their own vehicles for business use). Increasingly, grey fleet is a board level issue for large organisations given the implications of corporate manslaughter legislation, and is a core issue for HR, fleet and sustainability managers as there are financial, environmental and risk avoidance benefits that can be derived from improved grey fleet management. The event will highlight the grey fleet toolkit with implementation / process support documents and policy guidance. Andrew Woolfall and James Backhouse of Backhouse Jones Solicitors will also be in attendance.
-
Green Fleet: the Energy Saving Trust will be providing a unique opportunity for authorities to take advantage of a free 'green fleet audit'.
-
Information will also be available on fleet management, vehicle purchase, vehicle lease, fuel cards, commercial vehicles and spot hire.
This event would be ideal for Procurement Managers, Fleet Category Managers and their Fleet Manager colleagues, sustainability officers and those policy officers involved in grey fleet.
Through discussion and Q&A sessions it is also a chance for you to let the collaborative procurement project hear what is important to you.
