Budget 2009: date set for 22 April

Alistair Darling, Chancellor of the Exchequer, has announced that this year's Budget will take place on 22 April.

The late timing for the Budget means it will take place after the G20 summit where political leaders will discuss how to tackle the global economic crisis.

FTA's pre-Budget submission which sets out freights priorities for the Budget will be sent to HM Treasury this week.
