Commercial vehicle registrations: remain weak

New data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) shows little sign of optimism for heavy goods vehicle and light goods vehicle registrations

In June, heavy commercial registrations (over 6 tonnes gvw) recorded a year-on-year fall of 49 per cent. Light commercial registrations fell by slightly less (down 40 per cent), although the economic recession became evident in this sector more quickly than in trucks, where registrations were initially insulated by long lead times.
