Cost of Government legislation: FTA launches Every Penny Counts campaign

Tuesday 17th March 2009

On Thursday 19 March, FTA launches its Every Penny Counts campaign.

This calls for the 1.84ppl increase in fuel duty from 1 April 2009 to be scrapped, and the planned hikes in VOSA, DVLA and DSA statutory fees to be abandoned. All those involved in the logistics sector, whether directly employed or working as a supplier, are being encouraged to send special postcards to their MP, calling on them to support the Every Penny Counts campaign by signing a parliamentary petition.

The postcards, which are pre-printed and pre-paid, feature the headline 'Don't send businesses to the job centre', and will be distributed through Commercial Motor and Motor Transport (19 March issues) and Freight and Truck & Driver (April issues). Postcards are available for free by simply send an email to epc@fta.co.uk, stating your name, address and the number of postcards required.
