Digital tachographs: BST/UTC time change reminder
Wednesday 25th March 2009You are reminded that British Summer Time (BST) begins on Sunday 29 March at 01.00 hrs.
From Sunday local time in the UK goes forward one hour, which means there will be a one-hour difference between local time and the time recorded on a digital tachograph, known as Universal Time Co-ordinated (UTC). Drivers using vehicles fitted with digital tachographs need to be aware of this time difference when making manual entries. For example, manual entries for work undertaken between 06:00hrs - 08:00hrs BST in April, will have to be entered onto the digital system as taking place between 05:00hrs - 07:00hrs UTC time.
