Local road maintenance: extra £66 million earmarked for detrunked roads
Tuesday 10th February 2009The Department for Transport has announced £66m of capital funding during 2009/10 and 2010/11 to 41 local authorities to carry out capital maintenance on their de-trunked roads.
Revenue support is provided in addition to the general Revenue Support Grant (RSG) provided to local authorities.
FTA has urged local authorities who have been given money for this vital part of the road network not to divert funds elsewhere. Click here for FTA press release.
