Transport infrastructure investment priorities: 20-year vision announced
Tuesday 23rd December 2008FTA has welcomed Transport Scotland's Strategic Transport Projects Review (STPR), which was published on 10 December. The review stresses the importance of facilitating freight movements as being fundamental to delivering sustainable economic growth for Scotland.
The STPR outlined 29 projects for improving Scotland's rail and trunk road networks to be implemented within the next 20 years. Those of particular interest to FTA members are:
- the Forth replacement crossing
- A82 targeted road improvements
- route management
- improved links to Loch Ryan ports
- A9 upgrade from Dunblane to Inverness
- Grangemouth road and rail upgrades
- Dundee Northern Relief Road
