VOSA test stations: test lane capacity cuts

Wednesday 10th December 2008

Following a review of its test station estate, the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) has concluded that there is some over-capacity and as a result has been examining where surplus test lanes can be removed. It has identified 10 test stations across the network where extra capacity exists. At each site one test lane will be decommissioned. The decommissioning will take place when the calibration of key equipment expires. The 10 relevant stations and expected dates of de-commissioning are:

Birmingham March 2009
Bishopbriggs January 2009
Edmonton April 2009
Gillingham January 2009
Mitcham January 2009
Perth March 2009
Purfleet March 2009
Leicester May 2009
Liverpool February 2009
Southampton February 2009

Stephen Tetlow: Chief Executive, VOSA: steps down

Last week Stephen Tetlow announced that he will be leaving VOSA at the end of January 2009. This will not affect the direction that the organisation will be moving in. From Stephen Tetlow's departure until the appointment of a successor, Alastair Peoples, currently Strategy and Performance Director, will be acting Chief Executive.
