Andrew qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and has been specialising in transport law since 1995. In 2011 he qualified as a Higher Courts Advocate in criminal proceedings.

Andrew specialises in representing clients in the Magistrates and Crown Courts as well as at Public Inquiries and Inquests. He covers road transport, environmental and health and safety work in addition to advising on the use of specialist vehicle types such as engineering equipment and plant, abnormal loads and circus and funfair vehicles! He has acted for companies and individuals in relation to drugs and smuggling seizures on the continent and provides consultancy advice to companies on their internal systems for compliance with road transport law and operators licensing requirements. He is a regular contributor to the trade press as well as writing for publications such as Croner and Transport Engineer.

In the Chambers Guide 2019 Andrew was referred to as “routinely appears in the magistrates’ and Crown courts in relation to road regulatory matters, in addition to handling public inquiries and inquests for clients. Commentators say: “He is always fantastically well prepared and considers various angles.”

In his spare time he enjoys cycling, skiing and is an ambassador for the transport industry charity  Transaid.
