Scott trained with Backhouse Jones in 2008 and qualified as a Solicitor with us in 2010 and now works within our Regulatory department.
He regularly undertakes over 50 Public Inquiries a year before the Traffic Commissioner right across the UK and takes the lead within Backhouse Jones on Operator Licence applications especially businesses that may be within or coming out of insolvency proceedings. Scott also specialises in advising and representing Operators on DVSA Drivers Hours Investigations and Maintenance Investigations and providing training to Operators on how to stay compliant.
Scott has deep roots in the Transport industry with him growing up in the haulage world and prior to being a solicitor working for TNT Express UK (now FedEx) in both Operations and Legal/HR and therefore can understand some of the issues that our clients face on a day to day basis.
He is described in Chambers and Partners as an Associate to Watch and quotes him as having a “broad experience of road transport matters and assisting clients with public inquiries. He regularly advises on compliance and operator licence applications”.
Scott also regularly contributes to trade press articles as well as undertaking speaking engagements on behalf of Trade Associations.
Outside of work, he is a keen cyclist, married to Kimberley and father to Oscar.
