Traffic Commissioner Public Inquiries are BACK

06 July

At Backhouse Jones, we have a formidable team of individually and collectively ranked leaders in regulatory road transport law and are dedicated to assisting any goods and passenger vehicle operators who find themselves on the wrong side of DVSA or the Traffic Commissioners anywhere in the UK.

Our Regulatory team might have been physically ‘grounded’ since March, when all hearings before the Traffic Commissioners were suspended with the introduction of the UK-wide lockdown but, in ordinary times, we handle more Public Inquiries nationwide each year than any other firm.

Even during the lockdown period, we have been busy using our unrivalled expertise to work with operators, the Traffic Commissioners and their staff to resolve cases ‘on the papers’ (thereby avoiding the need for a hearing) or through a limited number of virtual Public Inquiries.

This month sees the resumption of in-person hearings and we can’t wait to get BACK in the Public Inquiry room. We have already gained some insight in to what the new Public Inquiry ‘norm’ might look like and look forward to assisting those operators in need – click here to read more.

If you have received Public Inquiry call-up papers, or fear a Public Inquiry might be on the horizon (if, for example, you have had an issue at the roadside or have been the subject of a DVSA investigation), contact us for a free initial consultation regulatory@backhouses.co.uk or call 01254 828300.
