Heather  qualified as a Solicitor in 2009 specialising in employment law. Heather joined the Employment Team at Backhouse Jones in March 2015.

She advises on a wide range of employment issues for the Transport and Logistics sector ranging from day to day workplace issues, handling disciplinaries, dismissals and grievances, as well as  restructures, individual and collective redundancies and HR issues that arise on commercial transactions and outsourcing/insourcing (TUPE). Heather also advises on non-contentious employment issues, including drafting contracts of employment and service agreements and reviewing HR policies. Heather also handles a caseload of Employment Tribunal claims, covering issues such as unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing.

Heather regularly delivers bespoke in-house client training on all aspects of Employment Law, and is a regularly contributor to providing talks to our trade associations, in-house webinars and centrally organised client updates.

She prides herself of being down to earth and approachable and providing practical, commercial advice and solutions for her clients and is listed as a key lawyer in the 2024 Legal 500.

Outside of work, Heather is mum to Zara and enjoys spending time outdoors, walking, cycling and being dog mum to Mylo.
